Cognac Gautier

Cognac Gautier is a well-respected cognac brand that has roots in the 16th century. The brand was officially established, however, in 1755. In 1755, the Gautier family received a Royal Warrant to make cognac. They created casks with the assistance of wood they retrieved from the Tronçais forest. This forest is acclaimed for the high standard of its oak trees. Charles Gautier wed Jacquette Brochette in the year 1644. Brochette was the daughter of a winemaker. From the year 1700 and on, the pair's grandson Louis Gautier worked on establishing regional commerce. As a result, he succeeded in boosting the market. He also succeeded in making Maison Gautier a prominent force. Cognac Gautier to this day is a family-run operation. Family members have been at he helm of Cognac Gautier for more than 10 generations. Cognac Gautier has the distinction of being one of the very oldest cognac brands in existence. The company is located in Aigre and overlooks the pleasant Osme River.
