Cruzan Single Barrel Rum is the flagship product for this line of spirits. This is not an actual single barrel rum. It is a blend of many different high-end rums. The spirits that are used have already been aged for anywhere between five and 12 years. A master blender carefully chooses from the selection of rums available to create a unique spirit. The rum is then placed into a new oak barrel and aged for one more year. The rum picks up new flavors and a darker color during this time. The final rum has a very dark color although this does not match the flavor. The body is solidly medium. The taste is light and soft with no harsh edges. There are tropical notes of banana and tangerine as it goes down. There is only a slight smokiness present from the barrels. Cruzan Single Barrel Rum is a good choice for sipping or light cocktails.
