JM Rhum Gold Rum is crafted at a small, very old distillery in the town of Mancouba on the island of Martinique. It gets its name from Jean-Marie Martin, a wealthy Frenchman who purchased the plantation on which the distillery was founded way back in 1848. All of the sugar cane for JM Rhum Gold Rum comes from just one place: the volcanic soil on the slope of a particular mountain in Martinique. This ensures that no other rum is quite like it. JM Rhum Gold Rum is the brand's lighter selection. It has a relatively crisp, bright quality that makes it suitable for various cocktails. It features notes of cinnamon, bananas, and vanilla. The finish is dry and fairly smooth.
