Using the Charentaise method of double distillation typically only utilized for the most premium French cognacs, Rhum Barbancourt is a spirit in a league of its own. During the first distillation, a column still is used to heat and separate the cane wine from the water. The purity yielded by this method is known by the Haitian locals as 'Clairin', a raw 140 proof spirit. The second distillation only purifies the spirit even further, yielding only the highest quality product at nearly 180 proof in order to insure the crafting of a supreme rum. Continuing the tradition of excellence in the Barbancourt brand, their Silver Rhum is completely pure and colorless. With an intense development of aromas and notes of mangos and bananas, this rich, smooth spirit is both satisfying and warming.
